The Upgrader is skin gambling distilled to a single dial. You stake skins (or balance value) from your CS2 simulator inventory, pick a more expensive target, and the game shows you a wheel with your exact win chance. One roll decides it: land inside your slice and the target is yours; miss and the stake is gone. FakeStake's version runs the whole ritual with virtual items at a fixed, visible 95% RTP — the payout multiplier is always 0.95 divided by your win chance, so nothing is hidden in the wheel graphics. It lives in the CS2 hub alongside Cases and Battles, and both CS2 pulls and Vault Cases skins can ride it.

Every upgrade is one server-side roll of a number from 0 to 9,999. Your win chance defines a window; if the roll lands inside it, you win the target. The wheel's pointer angle is derived from the very same roll, so the animation cannot disagree with the outcome.
- Select input skins from your inventory (or balance value) — their combined value is your stake.
- Pick a target item; the win chance is 95% of the stake-to-target value ratio.
- Win chance is clamped between 5% and 95%, which caps the payout multiplier at 19× and the floor at 1×.
- Quick presets jump straight to 1.5×, 2×, 5× or 10× upgrade shapes.
- Win: the target lands in your inventory. Lose: the staked items are consumed.
The Math — Fixed 95% RTP at Every Chance
Because the multiplier is always 0.95 ÷ chance, every position on the dial has the same expected value: 95 cents back per virtual dollar staked. Chasing a 19× long shot and grinding 1.5× upgrades lose at exactly the same long-run rate — the only thing you choose is variance.
| Win Chance | Multiplier | Shape |
|---|---|---|
| 95% | 1.0× | Near-sure, near-nothing |
| 63.3% | 1.5× | Gentle upgrade |
| 47.5% | 2× | Coin-flip double |
| 19% | 5× | Aggressive |
| 9.5% | 10× | Long shot |
| 5% | 19× | Maximum allowed |
Strategy Notes
There is no chance setting that beats the 5% edge — the dial only reshapes the ride. What the simulator teaches well is how quickly repeated upgrades compound against you.
- Chaining upgrades multiplies the edge: two consecutive 2× attempts keep only ~90% of expected value, five keep ~77%.
- Ladder plans (1.5× → 2× → 5×…) feel strategic but are mathematically identical to one big jump — with more house edge collected along the way.
- Treat 19× attempts as lottery tickets: at a 5% chance, twenty tries in a row still miss about 36% of the time.
- Practice the emotional side here — the near-miss wheel animation is engineered tension, and it works even with play money.
Provably Fair
The roll comes from HMAC-SHA256 over a committed server seed and your client seed. The wheel angle is computed from the same roll — replay the seeds and the pointer lands in the same spot. No second RNG, no visual fudging.
