Stonebreaker is a FakeStake original that swaps spinning reels for a mining seam. Instead of matching symbols along paylines, every drop rains five columns of tools onto a wall of stone six blocks deep, and what you earn depends on what you manage to smash. Rubble pays nothing at all; Starstone pays 25× on its own. Clear a whole column and a Strongbox opens above it, multiplying everything you have accumulated so far. Land three Lanterns and the seam turns persistent for the Deep Dig bonus, where the spin counter resets every time a tool lands. This guide covers the block table, the tool damage values, the Strongbox odds, both bet modifiers and the exact RTP — all playable free with virtual currency, no deposit and no signup.

The board is two layers. On top sits a 5×3 reel that drops fifteen tool symbols per spin, three per column. Underneath is the seam: five columns, six blocks deep, thirty blocks in total, generated fresh every round. Damage resolves one column at a time. The three symbols in a column add their damage together, and that total lands on the shallowest block still standing. If it is enough to break it, the block pays its multiplier and any leftover damage carries down to the block beneath — so a single Blast can chew through several shallow blocks in one drop. The multipliers from every block you break are summed across the round.
- A 5×3 tool reel over a 5×6 block seam — thirty blocks per round.
- Damage is summed per column, then applied top-down; overkill carries to the next block.
- Block multipliers add up across the whole round.
- Clearing an entire column opens one Strongbox, worth 2× to 100×.
- Strongbox values add to each other, and the total multiplies your accumulated block score.
- Three Lanterns start Deep Dig; any spin that lands a tool resets the counter to four.
- Provably-fair server RNG in ranked mode; free virtual-currency play when logged out.
The Six Blocks
The block table is the whole economy in one picture: what pays is what is hard to break. Rubble is almost half the seam and pays nothing — its job is to soak damage and stand between you and the good stone. Starstone turns up in fewer than one cell in a hundred and needs seven damage to shift, which no single column of tools can guarantee in one drop.
| Block | Hit points | Pays | Base-game frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rubble | 1 | 0× | 48.0% |
| Slate | 2 | 0.1× | 30.0% |
| Quartz | 4 | 1× | 14.0% |
| Amber | 5 | 3× | 5.0% |
| Sapphire | 6 | 5× | 2.2% |
| Starstone | 7 | 25× | 0.8% |
The Five Tools
Just over a third of the symbols on the base reel do anything at all — the rest are blanks and the occasional Lantern. Because damage is summed per column before it is applied, combinations matter more than any single symbol: a column drawing Chisel, Pickaxe and Drill delivers six damage in one go, enough to take a Sapphire outright, or to clear a Rubble and a Slate and still leave three damage for whatever sits underneath.
| Symbol | Damage | Base-game frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Blank | — | 62.9% |
| Lantern | — (scatter) | 2.1% |
| Chisel | 1 | 17.0% |
| Pickaxe | 2 | 10.0% |
| Drill | 3 | 5.5% |
| Blast | 5 | 2.5% |
Strongboxes — Where Rounds Are Decided
A Strongbox opens the moment a column is emptied of all six blocks, and each column can only ever award one. This is where the big rounds come from, because a Strongbox does not pay by itself — it multiplies. Every Strongbox value you collect in a round is added into a single factor, and that factor is applied to the total of every block multiplier you accumulated.
| Strongbox | Chance |
|---|---|
| 2× | 46.0% |
| 3× | 23.0% |
| 4× | 13.0% |
| 5× | 8.0% |
| 10× | 5.0% |
| 25× | 2.5% |
| 50× | 1.5% |
| 100× | 1.0% |
Worked example: you break blocks worth 8× in total and clear two columns, drawing a 3× Strongbox and a 10× Strongbox. The factor is 3 + 10 = 13, not 30 — Strongboxes add to one another and the sum multiplies the block score. The round pays 8 × 13 = 104× your stake.
The Deep Dig Bonus
Three or more Lanterns anywhere on the reel trigger Deep Dig. A fresh seam is generated and you are given four spins — but that counter behaves less like a countdown and more like a stopwatch that keeps getting reset. Any spin landing at least one damaging tool puts it straight back to four. Only a spin of pure blanks moves you closer to the end. The bonus finishes when the counter runs out, when the entire seam is cleared, or at a hard ceiling of 250 spins.
The bonus reel is deliberately thin: 94.5% of its symbols are blank, so roughly one symbol in eighteen does damage. With fifteen symbols dropping per spin the reset is common enough to keep a round alive for a long stretch, and the bonus seam is softer than the base one — 66.3% Rubble against 48.0% — so each hit travels further down its column. Deep Dig is not a handful of extra spins bolted onto the base game; it is the part of Stonebreaker where columns actually get cleared.
Ante Bet and Bonus Buy
Two modifiers change the price of entry. The Ante Bet costs 3× your stake and pays out on a 3× unit, and it lifts the Lantern frequency from 2.111% to 3.797% — close to double the trigger rate. The Bonus Buy costs 100× your stake and drops you straight into Deep Dig with no base spin at all.
The Ante Bet is not a free upgrade. A Deep Dig triggered from an Ante spin generates a different and much poorer seam: 83.1% Rubble, and Starstone removed from the table entirely. You buy more bonuses and each one is worth less. Both routes settle at the same 96% RTP — the Ante trades size for frequency, it does not create value.
RTP, Volatility and Max Win
Stonebreaker is tuned to a 96% RTP against a 4% house edge. The client and the server run byte-identical math — the shared engine mirrors the SQL implementation constant for constant, and the oracle test compares the two 187 times out of 187. Volatility is high: plenty of rounds return a little Slate and nothing else, while the sessions worth remembering come from cleared columns and a Deep Dig that refuses to end. The ceiling is 5,000× your stake, applied to the round as a whole.
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Slot / Grid |
| Seam | 5 columns × 6 deep (30 blocks) |
| Reel | 5×3 — 15 tool symbols per spin |
| RTP | 96% |
| House edge | 4% |
| Max win | 5,000× |
| Bonus trigger | 3 Lanterns |
| Deep Dig spins | 4, reset by any tool |
| Ante Bet | 3× stake |
| Bonus Buy | 100× stake |
Strategy Tips
Stonebreaker rewards thinking in columns rather than in blocks. A single Starstone is a pleasant surprise, but the rounds that actually move your balance are the ones where a column empties and the Strongbox factor lands on a score worth multiplying.
- Bank on columns, not individual blocks — the Strongbox factor is what scales a round.
- A column that already paid its Strongbox can never pay another, so damage there is worth less.
- Treat Starstone as a bonus rather than a plan: it is 0.8% of the base seam.
- The Bonus Buy costs 100× and returns the same 96% over time, with far more variance per round.
- The Ante Bet buys frequency, not value — expect more Deep Digs, each one smaller.
- Play the free virtual-currency mode until you have watched a full Deep Dig play out.

On FakeStake, Stonebreaker runs entirely on virtual currency — no deposit, no signup and no real-money risk. Logged-out and unranked play uses exactly the same published math as ranked mode, so nothing about the demo is softened or sweetened. Ranked rounds are settled server-side on a provably-fair RNG and the client only visualises an outcome the server has already decided, which is why the two modes cannot drift apart.
