Casino Hold'em Free — Play Online Poker vs Dealer

Updated 2025-04-17 · 3 min read

Casino Hold'em free online is the simplest way to learn the dealer-vs-player variant of poker without risking real money. Unlike Texas Hold'em at a tournament table, Casino Hold'em is played against the house — you don't bluff, don't read opponents, and don't slow-roll. You make one decision per hand: after seeing your two cards and the flop, do you Call (2× your Ante) or Fold? The payoffs for strong hands on the Ante are what keep it interesting — a Royal Flush pays 100:1, a Straight Flush 20:1, Four of a Kind 10:1. At FakeStake you get virtual-currency Casino Hold'em so you can practice the decision tree, the qualification rule and the AA+ side bet before you ever touch real money.

Casino Hold'em Rules

You start with an Ante bet. You're dealt two hole cards face-up; the dealer gets two face-down. Three community cards (the flop) are dealt face-up. You now choose: Fold (lose your Ante, round over) or Call (place an extra bet worth 2× your Ante). If you Call, the turn and river are dealt, then the dealer reveals. Your best 5-card hand from your 2 + the 5 community is compared to the dealer's. The dealer needs a pair of fours or better to qualify — without qualification your Call bet simply pushes back to you.

Ante Pay Table

Premium hands on the Ante earn multi-x payouts regardless of the dealer's hand. Anything from a straight down to a high card still pays 1:1 on Ante (as long as the dealer qualifies or you win the Call comparison).

When to Call, When to Fold

Basic strategy says Call roughly 82% of hands. Fold only the bottom 18% — no pair, no draw, weak high card. Concretely: Call with any pair or better, any 4-to-a-flush, any 4-to-an-outside-straight, any Ace, any King with a 7 or higher, any Queen with 8+, any Jack with 9+. Everything else folds. FakeStake highlights the recommended action in real time when you enable the Strategy Hint toggle.

The AA+ Side Bet

AA+ is an optional side bet resolved on your 2 hole cards + the flop (it doesn't care about the turn, river, or dealer). It pays if you hit a pair of Aces or better at that point. A Royal Flush on the flop pays 100:1, Straight Flush 50:1, Four of a Kind 40:1, Full House 30:1, Flush 20:1, Straight/Three of a Kind/Two Pair/Pair of Aces each pay 7:1. Low house-edge side bet on paper, but like all side bets the long-run EV is negative — use it for variance, not income.

Casino Hold'em Odds and RTP

With perfect strategy the Ante bet returns 97.84% RTP (2.16% house edge). That's better than American roulette and many slots, worse than blackjack with basic strategy. The AA+ side bet sits around 94-95% RTP depending on the pay table. For leaderboard play on FakeStake, minimizing the AA+ usage and Calling when strategy says Call is the fastest way to a positive Profit Rate.

FakeStake vs Stake Casino Hold'em

The math is identical — same deck, same rules, same payouts. The difference: FakeStake uses virtual currency so you can practice the decision tree over thousands of hands without variance stress. Use it to internalize the fold/call threshold, then take that instinct to a real-money table if you want.
